Absurdist Brighton-based punks Keg release new single 'Kids', a frantic dance-punk rant about hating your kids, the first single from their upcoming Girders EP, due out September 2nd on Alcopop! Records. Tight cowbells rhythms, synths, guitars and trombones all clamour together into a well orchestrated danceable chaos, all the whilst an exasperated narrator complains about his incredibly unlikeable children. The band ponder the potentially pitfalls of parenthood: “I’ve always had a great relationship with my mum, but there were occasional times where I remember her saying ‘I love you loads, I just don’t like you very much at the moment’. What if your kids grew up the complete opposite of you? What if they like Michael Macintyre and will only eat health foods?” The track is accompanied by a video directed by Jay Bartlett in which the seven-piece donning bald caps and demonstrating some impressive synchronised dance moves. -Toby Evans-Jesra
